We are writing today to give you and update on Dru. First, we would like to thank every one who has supported Dru over the last
two three years on the Mac App Store by purchasing a copy or by spreading the word about good experiences using Dru and by reporting bugs.
Dru as a digital publishing application has 3 main areas that we focus on such as Vector Graphics, Page layout and Forms Design.
In Dru 1.4 we provided Vector graphics features such as “Multi-Point Gradient”, “Clipping Shape”. In the Forms Designer area added Forms Designer features such as Form Field Formats which allowed fillable pdf forms to be enhanced with date, time or number fields. Dru also become a better Mac OS client with Enhanced Cocoa and Sandbox support.
In Dru 1.4.3, 1.4.5, 1.4.6, 1.4.7, 1.4.8 and 1.4.9 fixed issues with placed image, allowed “Default” page types to be set, enhanced SVG file importing, added a new Vector tool called Divide, fixed issues related to exporting PDF’s with Advanced PDF settings.
In Dru 1.2 we provided updated Vector graphics features such as “Text to Outline Shape”, “Styles”, “Smart Shapes”, the “Convert To” Tool along with Shape Tools such as “Union”, “Intersect”, “Cut Out” and “Outline”. Another update was to the Page layout features in Dru 1.2; and this was the Master Pages tool.
In Dru 1.2.1 we brought the “Default styles” to Text boxes. In Dru 1.2.1 Forms Designer was enhanced with Form field Defaults.
Dru 1.2.2 brought with it the “Advance Forms” option that allowed text fields to include multiline and alignment options. Dru 1.2, 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 we brought countless bug fixes and enhancements.
We want to take the next step with Dru; An evolution. We ask our selfs the question “Where do we go from here?” or “What’s next!”.
- Well the Forms Design area of Dru will be a good place to start the next round of enhancements. Dru is one of the most advanced Forms Design applications available today in the Mac App Store. The next version of Dru will raise this bar higher for a Forms design application.
- Another area to Focus on will be the Vector Graphics engine in Dru. We plan to enhanced the process of doing vector graphics in Dru.
This is just some of the bug fixes and enhancements we plan for the next version of Dru which is currently in development. If you have and idea where Dru should go in the Future, feel free to contact us.
