3.1.3 Image

Create an Image

An Image object can be created by using the Image tool in the toolbar.

  1. Move mouse towards toolbar and click on button titled “Shapes”
  2. Next, click on the drop-down menu item titled “Image”.
  3. A dialog window will appear asking to select a image for importing.
  4. The selected image will now be visible in the view and will be contained inside of a frame.

Masking an Image
Note: When an image is not completely visible in its frame, that is when part of the image is masked out. To change the cropping of the image do the following:

  1. Select the image in the view.
  2. Click on the Points tool located in the Toolbar.
  3. In the view, click inside of the image and drag in any direction and you will notice the masking of the image changing.

An image can also be automatically centered or scaled to its frame.

Auto Center an Image

  1. Select the image object in the view.
  2. Navigate to the object menu and select Image and then “Center In Frame”. (Menus: Object -> Image -> Center In Frame)

Auto Scale and Image

  1. Select the image object in the view.
  2. Navigate to the object menu and select Image and then “Scale to Fit Frame”. (Menus: Object -> Image -> Scale to Fit Frame)

Note: A mouse right click, or a Trackpad two finder click, brings up a contextual menu showing both “Center In Frame” and “Scale to Fit Frame” for an image object.
